Late Friday night Holly Holm captured a
unanimous decision over formerly unbeaten Mary Jo Sanders. The fight was
billed "Finally" and seen world wide on PPV and Secondsout.com. Holm kept
Sanders confused most of the night with her pin-point punches and awkward
style to win the biggest fight of her career. Two judges had it 98-92, while
the third scored it a little closer at 97-93. Holm upped her record to
22-1-2, while Sanders dropped to 25-1.
In other women's title fights, Carina Moreno had an easy night against
Eileen Olszewski, winning by scores of 100-90 twice and 97-93; Wendy
Rodriquez got revenge from an earlier defeat to Hollie Dunaway, winning a
split decision over Dunaway in winning the IFBA straweight title; In the
best fight of the night Chavelle Hallback retained her IFBA Lightweight
title with a split decision over tough Jeannine Garside.
In the opening bout of the night Lorezno Estrada upset previous unbeaten
Willie Villanueva with a split decision. Estrada entered the fight at 2-13,
while Villanueva came in at 9-0. The edge in the fight came from two
knockdowns suffered by Villanueva .

FIREWORKS STARTING UP WITH HOLM VS SANDERS
Not much
fireworks from the two combatants in they're first press conference
back in March but their trainers had plenty to say. Mike Winkeljohn Holm's
trainer felt it would be a great fight "If" Sanders shows up. "I have
reservations that Sanders really wants to fight and when I start hear she is
having ankle problems, I'm not to sure she will be here June 13th."

EXPRESS HOLD OFF TOPES
Six runs scored by the Round Rock Express (28-36) in the
sixth inning were enough to withstand a late-inning
rally by the Albuquerque Isotopes (29-34) for a 9-6
triumph Monday night at Isotopes Park. A trio of
Isotopes, Chris Barnwell, Chase Lambin, and John Gall
each homered to spark the offense, but it was not enough
to overcome Round Rock’s timely hitting.
DUNAWAY EXPECTS EASIER TIME IN REMATCH WITH RODRIQUEZ
By Andy Rivera
It's been over a year since Hollie Dunaway defeated Wendy Rodriquez with a
near shutout win. This Friday on the big Holly Holm vs Mary Jo Sanders
pay-per-view card in Albuquerque, NM Dunaway will once again face Rodriquez,
but Dunaway doesn't feel Rodriquez will do anything different to get
revenge, in fact Dunaway is hoping she will stop Rodriquez, so much that
Dunaway's manager Ron Brand is giving Dunaway a chance to win an extra
thousand dollars if she halts Rodriquez.

TOPES SILENCED
Three errors by the Albuquerque Isotopes
(25-28) combined with a potent Nashville Sounds (23-30) offense contributed
to a 9-4 loss Thursday night at Isotopes Park. Chris Barnwell provided the
offensive spark for the Isotopes as he collected three hits including his
fourth home run of the season in addition to three RBI, but it wasn’t enough
as the ‘Topes tasted defeat for the second straight game. Meanwhile, John
Gall saw his Isotope-record and PCL-leading 25-game home hitting streak come
to an end with an 0-for-5 night.
ALBUQUERQUE GETS BACK IN WIN COLUMN

(25-26) secured the 11-3 victory over the Nashville Sounds (21-30) Tuesday
night at Isotopes Park. Tagg Bozied led the offensive barrage for the ‘Topes
as he collected four hits in five at bats, including his sixth homer of the
year, and drove in three runs.
TOPES DROP 4TH IN A ROW
A sterling start from Gaby Hernandez was not
enough, as the New Orleans Zephyrs (24-25) plated two runs in the seventh
and another in the eighth to break a 1-1 tie and grab a 4-2 win over the
Albuquerque Isotopes (24-25) Sunday afternoon at a muggy Zephyr Field. The

ZAMORA AND SANCHEZ ON SLATE FOR JULY 11TH?
No contracts have been signed as of Wednesday
but it looks like a fight between Albuquerque's Ray Sanchez III and
Socorro's Joaquin Zamora is in the works for July 11th at Isleta Casino.
Many have wanted to see Sanchez fight New Mexico's top Welterweights but
nothing ever materialized. Lets hope this one goes thru!
DE LA CRUZ WINS 6TH
Frankie De La Cruz derailed the Round Rock
Express (18-26) offense to lead the Albuquerque Isotopes
(23-21) to a 5-2 triumph Wednesday night at Isotopes
Park. De La Cruz (6-2, 3.20) took a shutout into the
ninth, working eight and two-thirds innings while
scattering five hits and allowing two last inning runs
to claim his PCL-leading sixth victory.
MCPHERSON SLAMS THREE
Third baseman Dallas McPherson belted three
home runs to help lead the Albuquerque Isotopes (23-20) to an emphatic 12-6
win over the Round Rock Express (17-26) Monday night at Isotopes Park.
McPherson’s home run trifecta tied an Isotopes record, increasing his PCL
homer lead on the season to 15 while also giving him four RBI on the game.
ISOTOPES SPLIT WITH ROYALS
The Albuquerque Isotopes (22-20) extended
their hot offensive streak at home, splitting a doubleheader with the Omaha
Royals (19-22) 11-2 and 4-10 Sunday afternoon at Isotopes Park. Outfielder
George Lombard paced the Isotopes to the game one victory with four hits,
including a grand slam, to go along with six RBI.
The Albuquerque Isotopes will continue their eight game homestand by
welcoming division rival the Round Rock Express, Triple A affiliate of the
Houston Astros, tomorrow to Isotope Park. Right-hander Gaby Hernandez (1-3,
7.71) will take the ball for the ‘Topes against Express righty Joshua Miller
(3-0, 4.42).
ESCALANTE HALTS MARTINEZ IN 3RD
After a good first round, body shots seemed to do in
Albuquerque's David Martinez in the third round, as Antonio Escalante
was able to put down Martinez with a left hook to the body, Martinez was able
beat the count but while he looked at his corner for instructions, referee
Luis Caiz Sr.. halted the fight at 2:08.
Martinez looked like he could continue but by not being responsive to Caiz
the fight was stopped.
ISOTOPES SQUASHED BY ROYALS
Starter Kyle Davies led a trio of Omaha Royals (18-20)
pitchers as they squashed the Albuquerque Isotopes
(20-19) bats Friday night in a 6-2 triumph at Isotopes
Park. Albuquerque’s lone offensive highlight was an
opposite field solo home run hit by catcher John Baker
in the bottom of the ninth.
The Isotopes return to action on Saturday with the
second of four games against the Omaha Royals, Triple-A
affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. Albuquerque
southpaw Chris Seddon (2-2, 4.50) will take the hill for
the Isotopes against O-Royals righty Carlos Rosa (NR).
ALBUQUERQUE BOUNCES BACK IN BIG WAY
One night after being no-hit, the Albuquerque Isotopes’
(20-17) offense erupted, pounding out 16 hits while scoring in each of the
first seven innings to defeat the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (17-20) 13-8 on a
cold, blustery night at Security Service Field. Chase Lambin collected three
hits, including a two-run homer, while driving in three to help lead the
‘Topes’ offensive onslaught.
ISOTOPES NO-HIT BY SKYSOX
Four Colorado Springs Sky Sox (17-19) pitchers combined
to hold the Albuquerque Isotopes (19-17) hitless for the second time in
franchise history in an historic 5-1 win Sunday afternoon at Security
Service Field. The no-no is the first ever pitched in Colorado Springs and
is the first against the ‘Topes since they were victims of a perfect game by
Nashville’s John Wasdin on April 7, 2003. Albuquerque’s only run was
provided by a sacrifice fly by catcher Paul Hoover in the fourth.
DE LA CRUZ PITCHES GEM IN TOPES WIN
The Albuquerque Isotopes (19-16) got another excellent
start from right-hander Frankie De La Cruz, who allowed just one unearned
run in seven strong frames to lead the ‘Topes to a 6-1 win over the Colorado
Springs Sky Sox (16-19) Saturday evening at Security Service Field. The win
was the right-hander’s fifth in a row and ties him for the Pacific Coast
League lead in victories with five.
De La Cruz (5-1) scattered seven hits throughout his seven innings of work,
allowing just one unearned run in the sixth while walking two and striking
out six. The young hard-throwing righty tossed a season-high 105 pitches on
the outing, 72 of which went for strikes.
“It was just another very solid outing by Frankie De La Cruz,” said Isotopes
Pitching Coach Rich Gale. “He attacked hitters with his fastball early and
then moved to his change-up the second time through the order, which was
just filthy. The big thing, though, was when we scored he answered with a
zero, which gave him and our team a lot of confidence.”
