Holly Holm successfully defended her WIBA Jr. Welterweight title with a unanimous decision over Chevelle Hallback at Isleta Casino & Resort in Albuquerque, NM (USA) late Friday night. Holm repeated a previous win over Hallback in 2007. Holm as in the first fight dominated the fight with her lead left hands and speed to retain her crown. Scores were 99-92 twice and 98-93.

Holm opened the fight landing lead left hands to Hallbacks head, while Hallback would look to load up with right hand leads many times missing wildly, Hallback managed to land shots that would catch Holm's attention but it was obvious Holm's speed was going to be too much for Hallback.

Hallback would start each the round much of the same stalking Holm looking to land one big shot that could hurt Holm and give her a shot at upsetting Holm, but there were to few punches being thrown by Hallback to make a dent in Holm's defense.

Holm would once again land lead lefts to the head of Hallback, with Hallback once again swinging for the fence on several occasions, but coming up short.

In the middle round Hallback did stagger Holm on a few occasions but could not put punches together to finish what she started, with each round you could hear the desperation from Hallbacks corner as the would yell continuously "Let your hands fly Chevelle".

Hallback to her credit did try but she was just outgunned by possible the best female fighter int he World in Holm.

The two would go toe-to-tow in rounds eight and nine with Hallback doing good in the first :20 seconds of each round but then Holm would take over with her speed and left hands to the head and body.

The final round had Hallback going for the knockout she would need in order to win the fight she managed to land two hard right hands to Holm's head, but Holm would use her boxing skills to stay out of harms way to finish the fight.

Both fighters had praise for one another as Hallbak said she felt Holm is the best in the world. "I did my best out there tonight against the best in the world, Holly is the best out there period". stated Hallback.

Holm also praised Hallback after the fight. "Chevelle is tough and strong and I had to be at my best to beat her, she is possible the toughest fighter I've faced."

With the win Holm raises her record to 26-1-3, while Hallback falls to 27-6-2.
